Capital of the Crusader kingdom. Situated on the Mediterranean, north of Haifa.

BEERSHEVA

Modern City in Abraham's ancient dwelling place. Capital of the Negev desert region.

BEIT ALFA

Mosaic floor of ancient synagogue with signs of the zodiac and Jewish religious emblems.

BEIT SHEARIM

The largest necropolis in which some of the most famous figures in Jewish history were buried, containing some 400 caves.

BELVOIR CASTLE

12th Century Crusader castle located on the Jordan Valley Road between Tiberias and Beit Shean.

BETHANY

Home of Mary, Martha and Lazarus. Site of the traditional Tomb of Lazarus whom Jesus raised from the dead.

BETHLEHEM

Birthplace of David and Jesus. The Church of the Nativity stands on the site of Jesus' birth.

 

 

BEIT SHEAN

One of the oldest cities of ancient Near East, having remains of twenty layers of settlement going back to 5th millennium BCE. A newly excavated Roman city and a theatre.

BEIT GUVRIN

Important town during roman times. Bell-shaped man-made caves.

BIBLICAL RESOURCES STUDY CENTER

Biblical resources scripture garden located in Tantur, Gilo, south of the Old City of Jerusalem.

BURNT HOUSE

From the time of Herod, destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD.

 

 

CAESAREA

Built by Herod the Great and capital of the country in Roman times. Has excavated and reconstructed amphitheatre and aqueduct as well as extensive Crusader ruins. Site of Paul's imprisonment and Peter's baptism of Cornelius.

CANA

Site of the first miracle of Jesus; turning water into wine at the wedding feast.

CAPERNAUM

The center of Jesus' Galilean ministry. Site of ancient synagogue and St. Peter's house.

 

CHURCH OF THE HOLY SEPULCHRE

Jerusalem's most noted church, built over the calvary and the Tomb of Jesus. First constructed by the Emperor Constantine in 335. Today's church is basically the Crusader reconstruction from the 12th and 13th Centuries.

CHURCH OF PRIMACY (or PETER'S LANDING PLACE)

Traditional site of Jesus' appearance to his disciples after resurrection (John 21).

CITADEL - TOWER OF DAVID MUSEUM

First constructed 2000 years ago by Herod the Great. Tower of David Museum illustrates Jerusalem's long history from King David's time.

CORAL BEACH RESERVE (Eilat)

One of the most famous underwater reserves in the world with 1200 kilometers of reef parallel to the shoreline of the Gulf of Eilat.

DEAD SEA

Lowest place in the world and the saltiest sea on earth. Water is so dense that one floats on its surface with no effort.

 

 

DOMINUS FLEVIT - THE LORD WEPT

The church is dedicated to Jesus' weeping over Jerusalem.

DORMITION ABBEY

The traditional site of the Dormition, or Mary's falling asleep before her assumption.

EILAT

Red Sea resort city famous for coral reefs and for year-round sunshine, attracting divers and sun-seekers from all over the world.
