Rent a car

To visit the many sites Israel has to offer, renting a car is a good option.

In Israel, driving is on the right hand side of the road.

Tourists do not need an International driving license, but must have a valid
driver's license from their country of residence.

The minimum age for most car rental companies is 23yrs, but certain car groups allow 21-23 year olds to rent a car. Usually it’s a lot cheaper to rent by the week than by the day and 1 to 2 day rentals usually have a maximum mileage limit.
Ask about GPS rental when renting a car, it can save time and worry.

Sign Posts are usually translated in Hebrew,English & Arabic.

Using a cellular telephone while driving is illegal.

In case of an emergency and you have to stop at the side of the road ,every vehicle must have a light reflecting vest in the car.  When leaving the car you must put on this bright yellow reflecting vest so that you can be easily seen by passing drivers.

Between November 1st and March 31st, you must drive with the car headlights on at all times, day and night.

Seatbelts must be worn at all times.

The speed limit is 50km inside cities and 90km - 100 km on the Freeways.
